There’s nothing better than thinly sliced onion coated in a besan batter and fried till crispy. Kanda bhaji is one of the go-to rainy-day snacks, perfect for tea-time munchies. Here’s how to make the bhajiyas.
2 onions 1 cup besan 1/4 cup rice flour 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds A pinch of baking soda Salt to taste Oil for frying
Mix besan, rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly pour in water to make a smooth batter.
Thinly slice the onions and coat with the batter. Heat some oil and deep-fry till crispy.
Drain excess oil and serve with a spicy chutney and a hot chai.
