Crispy from the outside and juicy from the inside, these fish fingers are a breeze to make. You just can't go wrong with this delicious and easy recipe. Here is how to make fish fingers at home.
300g of fish fillet ½ teaspoon of salt 2 tablespoons of juice ½ tsp of turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli flakes ½ tsp of black pepper powder 1 tsp of ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp rice flour 2 tsp of cornflour 2 eggs ¼ tsp of baking soda 1 cup of bread crumbs
Clean the fish fillets. If frozen, thaw them. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Cut into ½ inch width and 2-inch-long strips.
Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add the salt, lime juice, turmeric, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and ginger garlic.
Mix to coat all the fish strips. Set aside. In another mixing bowl, begin to assemble ingredients for the batter.
Mix the rice flour, cornflour, eggs, baking soda, and all-purpose flour. Add in the marinated fish strips. Set aside for 10 mins.
Pour bread crumbs on a large plate. Coat the fish strips in it. Heat a skillet wit oil on high heat. Lower flame to medium.
Deep-fry until golden brown on both sides. Continue using a slotted spoon to flip them occasionally.
When frying, avoid packing the pan too full. They won't be crispy if you don't fry them in batches.
Remove from oil. Place tissues to let oil drain. Serve fish fingers with a choice of dipping sauce.
