When the evening chai is served, the cravings for a crispy snack hit hard. One popular option is tikki. To make the snack healthier, you can make dal tikkis instead of using a potato-based mixture. Here’s how.
1 cup moong dal 1 onion 1-2 green chillies 1 inch ginger 2-3 cloves garlic 1/4 cup coriander leaves 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/2 tsp coriander powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp chaat masala 2 tbsp besan Salt to taste Oil for cooking
Rinse and soak moong dal for at least 3-4 hours.
Drain and grind it with green chillies, ginger, and garlic.
Mix in chopped onion, coriander, besan, and all the spices. Make patties with the mixture.
Shallow fry or air fry the tikkis as per your preference.
Once crispy, serve with a spicy chutney.
