Chilled, lightly spiced raita recipe brings instant relief to rich meals - creamy curd meets crunchy bites and gentle spices, balancing heat while adding a refreshing contrast in every spoonful.
1 cup curd ½ cup finely chopped cucumber 2 tbsp finely chopped onion ½ tsp roasted cumin powder ½ tsp black salt Salt to taste A few chopped mint leaves
Whisk the curd in a bowl until completely smooth and creamy, adding a little chilled water if needed to adjust consistency.
Add finely chopped cucumber (squeezed lightly to remove excess water), onion, and mint leaves into the curd.
Sprinkle roasted cumin powder, black salt, and regular salt evenly over the mixture.
Mix everything thoroughly so the vegetables and spices are well combined without making the raita too thin.
Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes before serving to enhance flavour and give it a refreshing chill.
