Coconut barfi is a traditional Indian sweet made with grated coconut, milk, and sugar. It is soft, mildly chewy, and often flavoured with cardamom or saffron.
2 cups grated coconut (fresh or desiccated) 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 1 tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp ghee 2 tbsp chopped nuts (optional)
Heat ghee in a pan and add grated coconut, sautéing for a few minutes.
Pour in milk and sugar, stirring until the mixture thickens. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Spread onto a greased plate, press evenly, garnish with nuts, and cut into squares once set.
