1 cup yellow moong dal 3 cups water 1 finely chopped onion 2 finely chopped tomatoes 4 minced garlic cloves 1 inch grated ginger 2 slit green chillies ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp red chilli powder 2 tbsp ghee or oil Salt to taste Fresh coriander for garnish
Boil 1 cup moong dal in water, add turmeric and cook until it turns soft.
Prepare a tadka by heating ghee and sauteing cumin, garlic, chillies, onions, and tomatoes with spices.
Mix cooked dal with the tadka and simmer for 5 minutes.
Garnish the Moong Dal with fresh coriander.
Serve with rice or roti!
