Classic Holi Thandai Powder Recipe With Cooling Spice Blend

Thandai Powder recipe blends nuts, fennel and rose, a mix traditionally enjoyed during Holi for its cooling effect. One spoon stirred into chilled milk creates a rich, aromatic drink that feels festive from the first sip.

Ingredients

½ cup almonds ¼ cup cashews 2 tbsp pistachios 1 tbsp melon seeds 1 tsp fennel seeds ½ tsp cardamom powder 10 black peppercorns 2 tbsp dried rose petals 2 tbsp sugar powder

Step 1

Dry roast almonds, cashews and pistachios on low heat until fragrant.

Step 2

Cool completely so the powder stays aromatic, not oily.

Step 3

Add melon seeds, fennel seeds, peppercorns and rose petals to a grinder.

Step 4

Pulse into a slightly coarse, nutty powder.

Step 5

Mix sugar powder and store airtight; stir into cold milk whenever needed.
