Flaming punches have long been part of celebratory drinking, especially during winter gatherings where spectacle matters as much as flavour. This version uses citrus and warm spice, finished tableside for effect.
750 ml dark rum 2 cups orange juice 1 cup pineapple juice ½ cup sugar syrup Cinnamon sticks and orange slices High-proof rum for flaming Ice
Combine rum, juices and sugar syrup in a heatproof punch bowl.
Add ice, cinnamon sticks and orange slices.
Warm a small amount of high-proof rum separately.
Carefully ignite it and pour over the punch just before serving.
