Follow these instructions to prepare simple no-bake Christmas sweets using basic pantry ingredients. Each sweet only required mixing, setting and chilling rather than baking, making them suitable for quick festive preparation.
Crush Marie or digestive biscuits into uneven pieces. Melt dark chocolate with butter and mix in the biscuits until evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into a lined tin and refrigerate until set before slicing.
Combine desiccated coconut and condensed milk in a pan and warm gently, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat, cool just enough to handle, then shape into small laddoos and roll in coconut.
Mix peanut butter with crushed biscuits to form a thick base. Spread the mixture evenly in a lined tray. Pour melted chocolate over the top, level the surface and refrigerate until firm before cutting.
Blend soft dates into a sticky paste. Mix in chopped nuts until evenly distributed. Shape the mixture into logs, wrap tightly and chill. Slice into rounds once firm.
Combine powdered biscuits, cocoa, butter and condensed milk in a pan. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides. Press into a tray and allow it to set before slicing.
