A popular Indo-Chinese delight, chilli paneer recipe is made by combining crispy paneer, crunchy vegetables, and a spicy, tangy sauce. Served dry as a snack or in gravy form, it pairs deliciously with fried rice or noodles.
250 g cubed paneer 2 tbsp cornflour 2 tbsp maida 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste ½ tsp black pepper Salt to taste Oil
1 tbsp chopped garlic 1 tbsp chopped ginger 2-3 slit green chillies 1 onion 1 diced capsicum 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp red chilli sauce 1 tbsp tomato ketchup 1 tsp vinegar 1 tsp cornflour + ¼ cup water for slurry Spring onion greens for garnish
Make a smooth batter with cornflour, maida, ginger-garlic paste, salt, pepper, and water, then coat the paneer cubes and fry until golden and crisp.
Heat oil, sauté garlic, ginger, green chillies, onion, and capsicum.
Add soy sauce, chilli sauce, ketchup, vinegar, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Stir in cornflour slurry, cook till the sauce thickens.
Add fried paneer, toss well, garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
