Chawal ke laddu are soft, chewy, and a bit sweet. Prepared with rice flour, ghee, and jaggery, it is perfect to make as a quick prasad or as a dessert. These laddus deliver a nutty fragrance of roasted rice and the earthy sweetness of gud for a satisfying bite.
1 cup rice flour ½ cup grated or powdered jaggery 2 tablespoons ghee 2 tablespoons grated coconut 1 teaspoon cardamom powder 2 tablespoons chopped nuts 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 2 tablespoons water
Take 1 cup rice flour and dry roast it on a low flame until it turns fragrant and lightly golden.
Add 2 tbsp ghee and mix it well for a crumbly, rich texture.
Melt half a cup of jaggery with 2 tbsp water in a pan until it gets a slightly thick consistency.
Add the jaggery syrup to the roasted rice flour and mix it constantly to avoid any formation of lumps.
Stir in 2 tbsp of grated coconut and 1 tsp cardamom powder to add some flavour.
Allow the mixture to cool a little and then shape it to make small round laddus.
Garnish these laddu with chopped nuts or sesame seeds and serve warm or at room temperature.
