September 7, 2025

Indians will witness a special lunar eclipse on September 7, 2025. While you must not forget to catch a glimpse of the blood red moon, there are a few eating do’s and don’ts you should follow.

Avoid Non-Veg

Spiritual gurus suggest avoiding non-veg because it is considered tamsic. Given the same logic, you should also avoid onions, garlic, and fermented foods.

Cook Simple Dishes

This is the time when you must prepare lighter dishes, including torai, bottle gourd, dal, sabzi, roti, and simple curries.

Don’t Store Leftovers

During a chandra grahan or lunar eclipse, you must avoid storing leftovers in the refrigerator. Either discard it or consume it before the eclipse.

Use Tulsi

It is believed that adding tulsi to your dishes and water can prevent it from absorbing the negative energies.

Don’t Drink

Experts believe that one must avoid drinking. It is considered inauspicious and harmful to health.

Prepare Fresh Food

After the eclipse, you should prepare fresh food, especially sattvic meals. It is considered auspicious.
