Indians will witness a special lunar eclipse on September 7, 2025. While you must not forget to catch a glimpse of the blood red moon, there are a few eating do’s and don’ts you should follow.
Spiritual gurus suggest avoiding non-veg because it is considered tamsic. Given the same logic, you should also avoid onions, garlic, and fermented foods.
This is the time when you must prepare lighter dishes, including torai, bottle gourd, dal, sabzi, roti, and simple curries.
During a chandra grahan or lunar eclipse, you must avoid storing leftovers in the refrigerator. Either discard it or consume it before the eclipse.
It is believed that adding tulsi to your dishes and water can prevent it from absorbing the negative energies.
Experts believe that one must avoid drinking. It is considered inauspicious and harmful to health.
After the eclipse, you should prepare fresh food, especially sattvic meals. It is considered auspicious.
