If you are looking for a comforting Navratri meal, sweet potato paratha can be a good option that is filling, naturally sweet, and is also vrat-friendly. Prepared with simple ingredients, sweet potato is perfect for lunch or dinner, keeping you full for longer.
1 cup boiled and mashed sweet potato 1/2 cup singhara or kuttu flour 1 green chilli, finely chopped 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1/2 tsp sendha namak 1/2 tsp cumin powder Water as needed 1 tsp ghee (for cooking)
In a bowl, mix mashed sweet potato, singhara or kuttu flour, green chilli, coriander, cumin powder, and sendha namak. Mix everything to make a soft dough.
Add water only if required to the dough, as the sweet potato is enough to bind everything. The dough should be soft and smooth but not sticky.
Divide the dough into small equal portions. Place the portion between parchment sheets and gently roll into medium-thick paratha. Do not put too much pressure on it.
Heat the tawa on a medium flame and carefully place the rolled paratha on it. Let it cook for a few seconds until the base firms up a bit.
Apply ghee around the edges and flip gently. Cook until both sides appear golden, having light crisp spots while being soft within.
Serve hot with vrat-friendly aloo sabzi or raita for a wholesome Navratri lunch or dinner.
