During Navratri, many devotees observe a fast or, in general, avoid non-vegetarian food and ingredients like onion and garlic. Here are some no-onion and no-garlic dishes that you can add to your vrat thali.
Sabudana khichdi is a popular fasting dish made with sabudana, potatoes, peanuts, green chillies, and spices.
Made with buckwheat flour (kuttu), these pooris are a great alternative to wheat-based ones during Navratri.
Potatoes are the go-to vegetable while fasting. The easiest vrat recipe would be the comforting jeera aloo.
You can make sabudana tikki with mashed potatoes, soaked sabudana and a blend of spices.
If you’re not using table salt, having curd as is can be difficult. But you can make the healthy beetroot raita.
