Raw mango curry is a seasonal favourite prepared during early summer when green mangoes begin to appear in markets. The dish highlights the fruit’s natural tanginess, often balanced with mild spices or a touch of sweetness. It is commonly included in summer meals as raw mango is known for its refreshing quality and vitamin C content, making the curry both flavourful and suited for the season.
1 raw mango peeled and chopped 1 cup yoghurt or coconut milk 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1–2 dried red chillies Curry leaves Turmeric Salt
Cook chopped raw mango with turmeric and water until soft.
Add yoghurt or coconut milk and mix gently on low heat.
Prepare a tempering with mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.
Pour tempering over the curry and serve warm.
