Caramel custard is a classic dessert with a creamy custard base topped with rich, golden caramel. This elegant dessert is easy to prepare and a delightful treat for any occasion.
For caramel: 1/2 cup sugar 2 tbsp water For custard: 2 cups milk 3 eggs 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract
Heat sugar, water in a pan until it turns golden brown, and pour it into a dish, coating the bottom evenly.
Heat milk until warm but not boiling.
Whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla extract together, then slowly add the warm milk while continuing to whisk.
Strain the mixture and pour it over the caramel, then place it in a water bath, and bake at 160°C for 40-50 minutes.
Let it cool for 2 hours, then invert onto a plate to release the caramel.
