The secret to a restaurant-style Oreo shake isn't just the cookies; it’s the milk-to-ice-cream ratio. Most people add too much milk, resulting in a thin drink. For that thick, straw-defying consistency, you need premium vanilla bean ice cream and a layered blending technique that keeps some cookie chunks intact for that satisfying crunch.
3 large scoops of Vanilla bean ice cream 1/2 cup cold full-fat milk 5–6 Oreo cookies Optional: Whipped cream and chocolate drizzle
Place the ice cream and milk in the blender first.
Add 4 Oreo cookies. Blend on high for just 10–15 seconds. You want the cookies incorporated but not pulverized into dust.
Take the remaining 2 cookies and crush them by hand into chunky bits.
Pour the shake into a tall glass, then stir in the hand-crushed chunks—this ensures you get actual cookie bites in every sip.
Top with whipped cream and a final drizzle of chocolate syrup for the full dessert experience.
