Moong dal cheela is a savoury, protein-packed Indian dish made from soaked and blended yellow moong dal. It’s quick, light, and perfect for breakfast or a healthy snack.
1 cup yellow moong dal (soaked 2-3 hours) 1-2 green chillies ½ inch ginger ¼ tsp turmeric powder ¼ tsp red chilli powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander leaves 2-3 tbsp grated veggies Oil or ghee for cooking
Soak moong dal for 2-3 hours, drain and blend with green chillies, ginger, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt to make a smooth batter and add a little water if needed.
Transfer to a bowl. Add chopped coriander and veggies. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
Heat a non-stick pan, pour a ladleful of batter, spread and drizzle a few drops of oil/ghee, then cook both sides until golden brown.
Enjoy with green chutney, curd, or tomato ketchup.
