Ahead of Holi, beetroot kanji is gaining popularity among fitness enthusiasts looking to improve their gut health. It not only regulates your bowel system but also loads your body with antioxidants. Here is the recipe.
2 tbsp yellow mustard seeds 5-6 carrots 2 beetroot 1 tbsp black salt 2 tsp red chilli powder 8 cups water 4 tbsp vinegar
Rinse carrots and beetroots and peel off their skins.
Slice the veggies into long sticks and drop them in a glass jar.
In a saucepan, heat water and vinegar together.
Add black salt, red chilli powder, and crushed mustard seeds into the jar.
Pour the water and vinegar concoction into the jar and put on the lid.
Keep the kanji in the sun for three days, and enjoy it on an empty stomach in the morning.
