This version of sheera uses ripe bananas to give it a natural sweetness and creamy texture. It’s perfect as prasad or even as a quick dessert after lunch.
½ cup suji (semolina) 1 ripe banana (mashed) ¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste) 2 tbsp ghee 1¼ cup water ¼ tsp cardamom powder A few cashews and raisins
Heat ghee in a pan and roast the suji on a low flame till it gives off a warm aroma and turns slightly golden.
In a separate pan, boil the water and add the mashed banana to it. Stir in the sugar and let it melt completely.
Slowly pour the banana-water mix into the roasted suji while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Add cardamom powder and let it cook for 34 minutes till the sheera thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
In another small pan, heat a teaspoon of ghee and roast the cashews and raisins. Add these on top before serving.
