Smooth, creamy and softly spiced, badam milk has a way of slowing the moment down. The sweetness of almonds, a hint of cardamom, and golden saffron create a drink that feels both festive and comforting in every sip.
1 cup almonds ½ cup sugar or mishri powder 1 tsp green cardamom powder 10 - 12 saffron strands 2 tbsp pistachios 1 tbsp dried rose petals (optional)
Toast the almonds in a dry pan over medium heat for 2 - 3 minutes, until lightly aromatic but not browned.
Let them cool completely, then grind almonds with pistachios into a slightly coarse powder.
Add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron and rose petals and pulse again until evenly combined.
Transfer the mix to an airtight jar and keep refrigerated to maintain freshness.
For serving, stir 2 tablespoons of the mix into hot or cold milk and whisk until smooth and creamy.
