Andhra-Style Tomato Rasam Recipe For A Quick Meal Preparation

Tomato rasam is an easy recipe that promises to satisfy your hunger while being comforting. It will take you less than 30 minutes to make the rasam and steamed rice, and you will have a wholesome meal to devour.

Ingredients

2 cups tomatoes 3 cups water 1 sprig of curry leaves 1.5 tbsp ghee ½ tsp cumin, mustard seeds A pinch of hing, methi seeds 4 garlic cloves 1 dried red chilli 1 tbsp jaggery 1 tsp tamarind paste ¼ cup coriander leaves ⅛ tsp turmeric powder 2 dried broken chillies 2 tsp rasam powder

Step 1

Heat ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, methi seeds, and turmeric powder.

Step 2

After 30 seconds, add hing, green chillies, red chillies, curry leaves, and garlic.

Step 3

Add tomatoes and a splash of water. When tomatoes turn mushy, pour water into the pan.

Step 4

Season the ingredients with salt and pepper and add rasam powder.

Step 5

When the ingredients start boiling, turn off the heat and garnish with coriander leaves.

Step 6

Serve rasam with steamed rice and enjoy.
