Amritsari Chole Recipe That Brings Dhaba-Style Taste To Your Kitchen

Amritsari chole is a rich Punjabi chickpea curry known for its deep colour and bold flavour. It pairs well with kulcha, bhatura or steamed rice and adds warmth to both everyday meals and special gatherings.

Ingredients

2 cups boiled chickpeas 2 onions (chopped) 2 tomatoes (pureed) 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp Amritsari chole masala ½ tsp turmeric Salt and oil as needed

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan, sauté onions until golden and add ginger garlic paste.

Step 2

Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric and chole masala and cook until thick.

Step 3

Add the boiled chickpeas with a little water and simmer until the gravy darkens and absorbs flavour.

Step 4

Serve hot with coriander on top and lemon wedges on the side.
