Amla Candy Recipe: A Healthy Sweet-Tangy Treat For Daily Use

 Amla candy is a simple way to enjoy the goodness of this powerful fruit every day. Filled with vitamin C, it supports eye health, makes the skin glow from within, and also supports hair health, making it an easy, healthy and tasty addition to your daily routine.

Ingredients

500 g fresh amla (gooseberry) 4 tbsp jaggery powder 1 tsp black salt 1 tsp roasted cumin powder ½ tsp black pepper powder

Step 1

Wash the amla thoroughly and steam or boil lightly until they turn soft. Once they cool down slightly, cut them into pieces and remove the seeds carefully.

Step 2

Spread the amla pieces on a cotton, muslin cloth or plate and let them air-dry for a few hours so that the excess moisture is removed.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix the powder with some black salt, roasted cumin powder, and black pepper to make a sweet-spicy mixture.

Step 4

Add the thoroughly dried amla pieces to this mixture. Toss it well so that each piece gets evenly covered with the mixture.

Step 5

Now, spread the coated pieces on a plate and sun-dry for about 1 to 2 days until they turn a bit chewy and develop a sweet-tangy flavour.

Step 6

Store the prepared amla candy in an airtight jar and enjoy it as a digestive bite after meals.
