Aloo Halwa: Turn Potatoes Into A Dessert With This Punjabi Recipe

Halwa is a classic Punjabi dessert made with a wide variety of vegetables, dry fruits, and nuts. To turn the humble potatoes into a dessert, follow these steps to make a rich serving of aloo ka halwa.

Ingredients

500 grams potatoes 200 grams sugar 100 grams ghee 4-5 green cardamom pods A pinch of saffron Chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins)

Step 1

Boil the potatoes. Peel and mash them thoroughly. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat some ghee and cook mashed potatoes till golden brown.

Step 3

Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Mix in crushed cardamom and saffron.

Step 4

Garnish with chopped dry fruits and relish aloo halwa.
