Akhrot halwa is a luxurious winter dessert made with finely crushed walnuts, slow-cooked in pure ghee and creamy milk until perfectly rich. Warm, nutty, and deeply comforting, it’s an ideal treat for cold evenings, festive celebrations, and indulgent winter cravings.
1 cup finely crushed akhrot ¾ cup full-cream milk ½ cup sugar 4 tbsp ghee ¼ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped almonds (optional)
Heat ghee in a heavy pan and add crushed walnuts, roasting slowly on low heat till aromatic.
Pour in milk gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps and ensure smooth cooking.
Cook the mixture on low flame until it thickens and starts leaving the sides.
Add sugar and cardamom powder, mixing well as the halwa loosens slightly again.
Cook till glossy, rich, and well-bound. Garnish with almonds and serve warm.
