These buttery, crisp cookies infused with ajwain and cumin offer the perfect blend of savoury and sweet. A tea-time favourite, they deliver a delightful crunch and comforting aroma in every bite.
1 cup all-purpose flour (maida) ½ cup softened butter ½ cup powdered sugar ½ tsp ajwain ½ tsp jeera ¼ tsp baking soda 1–2 tbsp milk Salt a pinch
Preheat the oven to 180°C and cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
Add flour, baking soda, salt, ajwain, and jeera, then mix to form a soft dough
Add a little milk if the dough feels dry and knead gently.
Roll out the dough, cut into desired shapes, and place on a lined baking tray.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, then cool on a rack and store in an airtight container.
