Love chaat but not the extra oil that comes with it? This air fryer aloo paneer tikki chaat gives a perfect alternative, giving crispy bites with a soft centre, topped with sweet and tangy chutneys and curd for a mouthwatering street-style evening snack that you can make at home easily.
2 medium boiled potatoes 150 g paneer, grated 2 tablespoons cornflour 1 green chilli, finely chopped 1-inch ginger, grated 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves 1 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon chaat masala ½ teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon oil (for brushing) ½ cup fresh curd 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney 2 tablespoons green chutney ¼ cup sev 2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
In a bowl, mash the boiled potatoes, then grate the paneer, cornflour, ginger, green chilli, coriander, and spices to make a soft, shapable dough.
Take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into small, thick tikkis. Lightly brush each one with oil so they turn beautifully crispy.
Set the air fryer at 190°C and cook the tikkis for about 12 to 15 minutes. Flip them halfway through, until both sides turn crisp and evenly golden.
On a serving plate, arrange the hot tikkis and pour over fresh curd, tamarind chutney and green chutney.
Garnish with sev, pomegranate seeds, chopped coriander and a sprinkle of chaat masala and enjoy.
