Makhana chaat is an easy-to-make, crunchy snack that is packed with taste, is crunchy and perfect for munching. This air-fried version keeps it less oil while providing the same crisp texture, making it perfect for guilt-free evening snack.
1½ cups makhana 1 tsp ghee or oil 1/2 cup boiled potato, chopped 1/4 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup chopped tomato 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder 1/4 tsp chaat masala 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 tsp black salt 1 tbsp lemon juice
Preheat the air fryer at 180°C for about 2 to 3 minutes. This provides even roasting and will help the makhana turn crisp quickly without requiring too much oil.
In a bowl, toss the makhanas with 1 tsp ghee or oil. This light coating will help in even roasting and create a crunchy texture in the air fryer.
Now, place the makhanas in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set the temprature at 180°C for about 5 to 7 minutes. Shake halfway through for even crisping.
Once crisp, remove and let them cool down a bit so that they maintain their crunch before you mix it with other vegetables.
Drizzle some fresh lemon juice and add chopped coriander leaves on top, and mix everything nicely.
Serve immediately so that makhans do not turn soggy, and you can enjoy maximum crunch in every bite.
