As the advisory to tackle heatwaves has been issued, it is time to take a hard look at diet and include cooling beverages. Buttermilk is among the most favoured Indian beverages that are known to regulate the temperature and keep the body cool when the mercury keeps on rising. Here are a few types of buttermilk or chaas you can make at home.
Blend mint leaves with curd and water. Strain the mixture through a sieve to ensure the fibrous portion. Add a pinch of roasted cumin powder and salt to taste to enjoy.
In a blend, add green chillies, curd, coriander leaves, salt to taste, and water. Once you have a smooth mixture, garnish it with a few chopped coriander leaves and enjoy the drink.
Blend mango pulp with water and yoghurt. Once you have a smooth concoction, add honey for sweet notes and a pinch of cardamom powder for a refreshing taste.
If you are tired of trying something new, make class chaas at home by combining water, yoghurt, salt, roasted cumin powder, and chopped coriander leaves.
For a zesty flavour, make ginger chaas today. Add roughly chopped ginger to yoghurt and water. After blending the mixture, squeeze lemon juice and enjoy.
To benefit your body with the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric, make turmeric chaas at home. Top it with a pinch of black pepper for a spicy taste.
After blending yoghurt and water, top the chilled beverage with black salt, roasted cumin powder, a pinch of red chilli powder and chaat masala.
