Mint leaves get spoiled quite quickly, especially during summers or when the humidity in the surroundings is high. But if you want to use them for a long time, there are a few ways to store them and avoid wastage.
Wrap the mint leaves in a paper towel and spray water on the surface. Keep the leaves in the refrigerator and use them for a week or two.
You can freeze the leaves. Spread them on a baking tray and freeze them. Add them to a ziplock bag, remove excess air, and store them in the freezer.
Keep a bunch of mint leaves in a glass filled with water and store it in the refrigerator. You will be treating the bunch as a bouquet.
You can also air-dry mint leaves in the sun until they are crunchy and dry. Make sure there is no moisture in the container. Store and keep it in the crisp drawer.
You can add mint leaves to an ice cube tray. Fill it with water and freeze. Once frozen, keep the ice cubes in a zip-lock bag and unfreeze when needed.
You can also dehydrate the leaves. Instead of drying in the air, you can use a high-end machine to dehydrate the leaves. Store in an airtight container.
