The best time to try making your own floral teas is in the spring season when flowers are in full bloom. Fresh rose, hibiscus, chamomile and jasmine teas are light and calming when brewed with simple techniques. Floral teas aren't just a trend–they have unique flavours with unique characteristics.
Within Valentine's Day nearing, roses are one of the most popular flowers right now. Brewing tea with its petals produces a sweet and aromatic beverage, with the same red hue and blended with honey.
Visually vibrant and always in vogue, hibiscus tea has a light flavour with lots of known soothing benefits.
Known to ease stress and aid in better sleep, chamomile tea has a distinct yellow hue, which is best served in transparent teacups paired alongside a wedge of lemon.
Fragrant and strong–jasmine tea is known for its signature aroma and made with either fresh or dried flowers.
Identified by its purple colour, lavender tea is ideal to serve with different types of confections such as vanilla cake or cookies.
When mixed with citrus juice, the blue pea flower concoction turns purple–similar to lavender tea–giving it a unique colour-changing effect while serving.
Often used in salads, marigold is one of the most commonly used flowers for brews as well. The tea is very mild in flavour, with bitter hints and sour notes, showcasing a strong aroma.
