Dairy products don’t have a long shelf life, but a few kitchen tips, and you can keep them fresh for a few more days. The same is the case with paneer. If you don’t store it right, it can start to smell funny and get ruined quickly, especially in summer. Here is how you can refrigerate it.
If you have recently purchased a sealed paneer, keep it as is in the refrigerator. If you bought khula paneer, store it in an airtight jar.
When adding paneer to the container, add some water to it. The liquid will keep the protein moisturised and increase its shelf life. Keep changing water every 24 hours.
Paneer should not be kept at a warm temperature. Your fridge should be chilling cold when you store it.
If you want to increase shelf life for a few more days, cut the paneer into cubes and freeze them separately.
Another way is to wrap the paneer in aluminium foil. Add it to a container and seal the lid. It will keep the paneer fresh.
You can also use a damp muslin cloth piece to wrap the paneer. Slide the wrapped paneer into a container and refrigerate it.
