Desserts are a huge part of any festive occasion. This Diwali, why not try your hand at shahi tukda? It’s a bread and milk dessert that’s as sweet as the festival of Diwali. This shahi tukda recipe is quick and can be made within seconds.
5-8 spoons of ghee 5-8 slices of bread 1 and ½ cups of sugar 2 cups of water ½ tablespoons of cardamom powder ¼ teaspoon of saffron 1 litre of boiled milk 2 and ½ spoons of custard powder ½ cup room temperature milk 3-5 spoons of sugar Chopped cashews Chopped almonds Chopped pistachios
Cut the bread slices into triangles equally.
Deep-fry the bread slices in oil until crispy and golden. Set aside to cool.
Warm up the milk and simmer until thick.
Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and custard powder to the thick milk.
Turn sugar into syrup. Coat fried bread slices with syrup. Or pour ghee over the slices.
Add it to the thick milk, which is now rabri. Garnish with saffron, cashews, almonds, and pistachios.
