Ingredients

1 onion 1 cup rolled oats ¾ cup mixed veggies 1 cup water 2 green chillies 2 tbsp lemon juice 1.5 tbsp oil Salt to taste 2 tbsp coconut, coriander ½ tsp cumin, mustard seeds ½ tsp chana, urad dal ¼ tsp turmeric powder A pinch of hing ½ tsp ginger 7-8 curry leaves

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan and let mustard and cumin seeds splutter.

Step 2

Add lentils and turmeric powder. When chana and urad dal are roasted, add vegetables.

Step 3

Weight for veggies to soften before adding oats and water.

Step 4

Add the remaining powdered spices and cover the pan with a lid.

Step 5

Cook the ingredients until the water is absorbed.

Step 6

Serve oats upma with a glass of milkshake, juice, or smoothie on the side.
