Gujarati fafda is not only a travel-friendly snack but an impeccable companion to your evening tea or coffee. Pair it with a tangy and spicy chilli pickle, and you will have a lip-smacking experience. Check out this recipe.
¼ tsp turmeric 1 cup besan ⅛ tsp baking soda 8-10 black pepper 2 tbsp oil A pinch of hing Oil for deep frying Salt as needed ¼ tsp ajwain 3-4 tbsp water
Use a deep vessel and drop in besan. Add ajwai, pepper, and all the dry spices.
Add baking soda, salt, and 2-3 tablespoons of water.
After kneading a soft dough, add some oil, and continue with the process.
Rest the dough for 30 minutes. Take small balls and flatten them with the heels of your palms.
Drop the elongated fafda in hot oil and fry until crispy.
Store in an airtight container and enjoy.
