Adding a tempting smokey flavour to food makes it more interesting and flavourful. While tandoor cooking is the most common way to get this tantalising scent, there are plenty of other ways to make it that don't need the oven.

Paprika

For a touch of smokey flavour in your marinades, rubs, or sauces, or to sprinkle over foods before they cook, smoked paprika is a versatile flavour.

Black Cardamom

When sautéing, crush some black cardamom pods and add them to the oil or ghee. This will impart a smokiness to the food.

Olive Oil

To add a subtle smokiness that elevates the flavour profile, pour smoked olive oil over cooked meals or salads.

Smoked Salt

If you want to give your soups, stews, grilled meats, or even chocolate desserts a unique smokey flavour, try substituting smoked salt for regular salt in your recipes.

Smoked Cheese

Add some shredded or grated smoked cheese into dishes like omelets, pasta, or baked potatoes for a creamy texture and intense smoky taste.
