A plate of smooth, creamy risotto is a classic Italian comfort food. While everyone loves the traditional recipe, how about adding an Indian twist to risotto? From adding some ghee or cashew paste to adding spices for tempering, there are several ways to do it.
To bring in a classic Indian touch, replace olive oil with ghee and sauté the risotto for a distinctly rich desi aroma.
In this method, the spices are cooked in hot oil to release the aroma. Splutter cumin seeds, mustard seeds, or curry leaves in hot oil/ghee before adding the rice.
Consider adding a good amount of coconut milk to further enhance the creaminess and introduce a coastal Indian flavor to the Italian dish.
For extra creaminess infused with an Indian flavor, add some cashew paste or sautéed paneer cubes. They enhance both texture and richness.
For a zesty, citrusy twist, add some fresh lime juice or half a cup of sweet lime juice. This balances rich flavors and enhances the fragrance.
