Are you tired of eating the same plain idlis? It’s time to take the favourite South Indian dish to the next level by stuffing everyday ingredients into it. Perfect for breakfast, snack, or lunchbox, these stuffed idlis will not disappoint you!
Make your idlis just like dosas by stuffing the potato masala in them when you put them in the ladle of the idli steamer. This will go perfectly with sambar and coconut chutney.
This type of stuffed idli will be the kids’ favourite. Add mozzarella to the idlis while steaming, and do the classic pizza pull-apart with idlis. Serve this with tomato ketchup.
Grate veggies like carrots, beetroot, capsicum with salt and some spices into the idlis before steaming. This is a good way to eat vegetables if you don’t like the raw taste, and it will also make your idlis colourful. Serve with coconut, tomato chutney.
Give a green twist to your idlis by adding chopped spinach leaves, and make it protein-rich with some crumbled paneer. This will taste best with mint and coconut chutney.
Stuff some mint-coriander or spicy garlic chutney into the idlis for a spicy twist to the plain idlis. This will not need anything to pair up with but just some tempering with mustard seeds and oil, and it’s ready as a party snack!
