All of us are in desperate need of calming, easily digestible, gut-friendly foods due to the recent mercury spike. Curd is one meal that might help you battle the heat. It maintains a healthy digestive tract and is an excellent probiotic. For a simple summertime addition to your diet, try one of these curd recipes.

Chaach

Making this curd-like liquid requires the right quantity of water, a hand blender, and certain seasonings like black salt, roasted cumin, salt, and chaat masala. Once mixed, it is served cold.

Curd Rice

Ingredients for this South Indian rice dish include cooked rice, curd, roasted peanuts, diced cucumber, onion, tomato, pomegranate seeds, salt, black pepper, and a tempering of peanut oil, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and mustard seeds.

Dahi Wale Aloo

In order to remain cool in the sweltering heat and maintain a balanced level of spiciness, this potato curry is made using curd instead of tomatoes.

Raita

Raita is a traditional Indian side dish that combines curd with grated vegetables such as onion, tomato, or cucumber, or is spiced with boondi, sugar, black pepper, red chilli powder, roasted cumin seeds, and salt.

Lassi

Made with rose syrup, almonds, sugar, and curd, it is the most well-known summer drink. Garnish with malai (the top layer of curd), then serve chilled, after thoroughly blending all the ingredients.
