When the heat feels a bit too much, a glass of masala chaach can instantly refresh you instantly. Light, spiced, and hydrating, this drink cools down the body while helping in digestion, which makes it perfect for hot summer days.
1 cup curd (dahi) 1½ cups chilled water 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder 1/4 tsp black salt (kala namak) 1/4 tsp regular salt 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1 green chilli, finely chopped (optional) 5–6 mint leaves (optional)
In a deep bowl, add the curd and whisk until smooth and lump-free to make the base and ensure a creamy, even texture.
Add in chilled water slowly and mix again until everything gets well mixed. Keep the consistency light, a bit frothy, and also easy to sip.
Add some roasted cumin powder, black salt, and the regular salt to this. Mix everything well so that the spices mix evenly.
To give a boost of flavour, add in chopped coriander, mint leaves, and green chilli. This will add aroma and a slight refreshing kick.
Taste and adjust seasoning if required. You can also add a little more water if you want a much lighter consistency for hot weather.
Keep in the refrigerator for some time and serve immediately in a tall glass with garnishing of some extra cumin powder or mint.
