Jamun season doesn’t last long, but while it’s here, make the most of it with these quick recipes. They’re simple, refreshing, and don’t need much more than basic ingredients.
Slice deseeded jamun, sprinkle black salt, chaat masala, and lemon juice. Toss and serve cold as a tangy snack.
Muddle jamun with sugar, salt, and lemon juice. Add chilled water or soda. Strain and serve over ice for a bright purple twist on lemonade.
Mix crushed jamun pulp into whisked curd. Add salt, cumin powder, and chopped mint. Pairs well with pulao or parathas.
Blend jamun with a bit of sugar, lemon juice, and water. Pour into moulds and freeze. Great for kids and grown-ups alike.
Cook jamun with jaggery, ginger, and spices. Mash or blend into a chutney that works with mathri, thepla, or even toast.
