Sorghum (Jowar) chocolate brownies Recipe

Recipe By Punita

Everyone likes brownies! But what if instead of unhealthy maida, they are made with healthy jowar atta? Jowar is a millet. In India, millets has been a staple diet and a main source of income for farmers especially in the semi-arid regions. Now coming to these brownies, they are easy to make, are gluten free, have lesser calories per serving and have more protein and fibre content as compared to the maida ones. I have used stevia which is a natural sweetener which provides approximately negligible calories to this brownies, which means it’s fit for those too who are watching their weight ! The United Nations General Assembly has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millet. Let’s not forget our indigenous crops (millets) which are not only healthy but tasty as well!
