An easy and simple instant vada recipe made with poha or flattened rice. the recipe is an instant version of vada from the popular south indian cuisine which is typically made with rice flour or with choice of lentil. it is an ideal party starter or can be served as an evening snack which can be served with a cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients for Poha Donut Vada Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Poha (Flattened rice)
  • 1/4 Pieces midium size finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 Tbsp Green chilly garlic ginger paste
  • To Taste salt as per taste
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilly flakes
  • 1/4 tbsp Pizza sauce
  • 0.13 cup Rice flour
  • 1/2 tbsp finely chopped Green coriander leaves
  • As Required Oil for deep frying as per required

Directions: Poha Donut Vada Recipe

  • STEP 1.Firstly, in a large bowl wash the poha twice with water and rinse poha. Then put it in a sieve, add water in another bowl under it and soak this poha for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Now add this soaked poha in a mixer jar and crush it.
  • STEP 3.Transfer the crushed poha to a large bowl and add finely chopped onion, green chilly + garlic + ginger paste, salt, red chilly flakes, pizza sauce and add rice flour.
  • STEP 4.Then add finely chopped green coriander leaves and mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  • STEP 5.Grease hands with oil and make a lemon size ball from this dough mixer. Flatten slightly and make a hole in the centre. Prepare all the donut vada this way.
  • STEP 6.Deep fry in hot oil, keeping the flame on medium. Stir occasionally, and fry on medium flame until the vada turns golden and crisp. Drain off the vada on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
  • STEP 7.Finally, enjoy poha donut vada with masala Yogurt and tomato sauce.
