Ingredients for Hyderabadi Egg Dum Biriyani Recipe

  • 3/4 g Ghee
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 A Few Bay leaf
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Inch Cloves
  • 1/2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1.50 Pieces Eggs boiled
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Biriyani Masala Powder
  • 1/4 A Few Star anise
  • 1/2 g Green cardamom
  • 1/4 A Few Black cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp Caraway seeds
  • 1/4 Pieces Onion chopped
  • 3/4 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Curd
  • 1/2 g Chopped gree chillies
  • 1/4 cup Fried onions
  • 1/2 drop Kewra essence
  • 1/2 drop Rose water
  • a pinch Saffron milk (soak a pinch of Saffron in hot milk)
  • 125 g rm Basmati rice cooked
  • 1/4 cup Fried onions (Birista)
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder

Directions: Hyderabadi Egg Dum Biriyani Recipe

  • STEP 1.Heat a pan 2tbsp of oil over low flame, add Turmeric Powder, red chilli powder, Coriander powder, salt, saute 1 min add egg & coat it in the spices.
  • STEP 2.Add the same pan chopped onion & saute for a minute, add ginger garlic paste, add curd, chopped green chili and cook stirring it continuously until it comes to a boil.
  • STEP 3.Egg mix it with the Masala, Cover & cook for 3min until oil starts to leave from the Masala.
  • STEP 4.Layering the Biriyani= Big sized biriyani handi, firstly add egg masala curry, & add the cooked Basmati rice, layer it evenly, add fried onions, add Biriyani Masala Powder, cardamom powder, kewra essence, rose water, Saffron milk, & ghee, Cover with a tight fitting biriyani handi lid then seal the biriyani pan with dough.
  • STEP 5.Heat a tawa over the flame, Place the Biriyani handi over the tawa, it is an important step because it will prevent the Biriyani from getting contact with direct heat.
  • STEP 6.Cook on high flame for 5 minutes lower the flame & cook for 15 minutes, switch off the flame keep it aside for 10 minutes, Open the Biriyani Handi and sarving Hyderabadi egg dum Biriyani.
