  • As required Soyabean oil
  • As required Salt
  • 200 gram Dry fish
  • 2 tablespoon green chili paste
  • 2 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 tablespoon cumin paste
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste

How to Make Dry Fish Recipe

step 1

STEP 01

Start with cutting off the sides away and dicing them into small pieces and then boil 1-2 cups of water and let the dry fish soak in the water for 40mins-1hr.

Meanwhile, make a paste of cumin, garlic, and chili-all about 2 tbsp, and ginger 1 tbsp.

STEP 03

Drain the water from the dry fish after 45 mins.

STEP 04

Start with heating 1-2 cups of water in a kadai, add the chopped onions, and fry them.

STEP 05

Then add the ginger paste, garlic paste, green chili paste, and cumin paste saute them till the raw smell of garlic and ginger goes.

STEP 06

Now add 1tbsp turmeric and salt to taste. Add some water and mix them thoroughly.

STEP 07

Add the dry fish and mix it with the gravy masala.

STEP 08

Add one cup of water slowly and steadily, and keep mixing. If needed, add some more water. (dry fish usually take time to cook)

Cover it and keep it 10 minutes and after 10 minutes keep mixing the dry fish masala thoroughly and continuously.

STEP 10

Let the water evaporate, and oil leaves from the masala. And now you know your dry fish is done.
