  • 1/4 Cup White rice
  • 2 Tbsp Chana dal
  • 2 Tbsp Arhar dal
  • 3/4 Tbsp Urad dal
  • 3/4 Tbsp Moong dal
  • 1/2 Pieces Green chillies
  • 0.13 Tsp Ginger grated
  • 0.13 Tsp Cumin seeds
  • As required Water
  • To Taste Salt
  • 1/4 Pieces Onion chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • As required For seasoning -
  • 1/2 Tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1/4 Tsp Urad dal
  • To Taste Chilli flakes
  • 1/4 Packet Eno

How to Make Adai Idli/ Lentils Idli/ Seasoning Adai Idli Recipe

STEP 01

Wash and soak 1 cup rice, 1/2 cup chana dal, 1/2 cup arhar dal, 3 tbsp urad dal and 3 tbsp moong dal. Soak them together for 1 hour. Drain it.

STEP 02

Add drained lentils, 2 green chillies, 1/2 tsp ginger and 1/2 tsp cumin seeds in grinder jar.

STEP 03

Grind it to a coarse batter by adding very less amount of water. Remove it in a bowl.

STEP 04

Add salt, 1 onion chopped and 4 tbsp coriander leaves chopped in the coarse batter. Mix well.

STEP 05

For seasoning - in another small pan heat 2-3 tbsp oil, add 1 tsp urad dal and 1/4 tsp chilli flakes. Let it splutter for a second. Tempering is ready. Keep aside.

STEP 06

Add eno + 1 tbsp water in the idli batter. Mix well. Batter will become frothy.

STEP 07

Take idli moulds. Brush it with seasoning. Add idli batter. Place idli moulds in the idli steamer and steam for 15-20 minutes.

STEP 08

Adai idli are ready to serve.

STEP 09

Serve hot with sambar and chutney.
