We, however, have decided to celebrate this day with the famous potato salad. And what’s not to love about it? You may toss some eggs in this salad, or eliminate it. You may combine some celery, onions and mustard to add some bold flavours into this potato salad too. Whatever you decide to do is upto you. There are so many interesting elements in this potato salad. Whether you want a tangy burst of flavour from the sour cream, or the herbaceous punch from the trio of rosemary, dill and oregano, or the spicy yet not so overpowering combination of mustard and mayonnaise — this potato salad has it all. It is one of the best potato dishes to have been created. So on this potato day, for us, this option sticks the landing. Here’s the recipe — 


- 2-3 potatoes, boiled  

- 1 tablespoon sour cream 

- 1/2 tablespoon fresh herbs (rosemary, dill, oregano)  

- 2 celery stalks, chopped 

- 1/4 cup mayonnaise 

- 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped 

- 1/2 cup onions, chopped 

- 1/2 tablespoon mustard  

- A pinch of salt, to taste 

- A pinch of pepper, to taste


- Peel the skin of the potatoes.  

- Chop the potatoes into cubes.  

- In a mixing bowl, combine mustard, mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped celery, salt and pepper.  

- Add the potatoes.  

- Mix properly so the dressing coats the potatoes.  

- Now, add hard-boiled eggs, fresh herbs and onions to the salad. Serve.
