How did it all start?
In the year 1994, a woman named Dolma Tsering started a stall of steamy Tibetan dumplings in the streets of Delhi. She belongs to Tibet and settled in Delhi in the 90s. She set up her small setup in the busy streets of Lajpat Nagar’s central market. She was the first woman to bring momos to Delhi. Initially, she couldn’t sell her momos as people in the 90s were not much interested in eating a new type of street dish. She also suffered from the language barrier but gradually customers came in because of the exciting taste.
What makes her momos so special?
As this place is usually crowded with students and office workers, everyone feels the need to taste these delicious balls of love. The amazing part about her momos is not only the taste but the way it is prepared. From kneading the dough, filling the stuff to making momo balls, she does everything with her own hands. That is one of the reasons why she is able to bring the original flavour in her momos. According to Dolma Aunty, the red chutney she makes is made with onion and spices. Oh damn, we just revealed her secret recipe to you!
The current price of Dolma Aunty’s Momos is 60 INR for one plate. Apart from momos, you can also try her Chilli Potato, Chilly Chicken, and Chowmein.
