While chocolate cakes might be a little unhealthy for us to eat on a daily basis or even occasionally too. To list a few, ragi helps in easy and effective digestion., helps boost our immune system, gives brighter skin and healthier hair. While anemia is common in most teens nowadays, ragi surprisingly has an advantage over treating the same too by being a powerhouse of iron. Here’s an interesting fact, ragi is so healthy for us that in a popular tradition in ‘Karnataka’, mothers feed their children ragi the first thing after they stop breast feeding them due to its health benefits including easy digestion. 
 

 Have a quick recipe of ragi chocolate cake to try at home: 
 

Ingredients : ½ Kg Chocolate Ragi Cake 
 

  1. Take 3/4th cup wheat flour instead of maida ( All purpose flour) 

  2. Half cup ragi flour. 

  3. one cup curd. 

  4. ¼  cup butter 

  5. 1 teaspoon baking powder 

  6. ½ teaspoon baking soda 

  7.  ½ cup milk 

  8. ¼  cup cocoa powder 

  9. 3-4 drops of vanilla essence 

  10. 1½ cup powdered sugar 

Method: 
 

  1. Take a bowl, mix baking soda and baking powder in the same bowl full of wheat flour. 

  2. Now take a bowl of curd, add butter and powdered sugar in it. Mix and beat well.  

  3. Take both the mixtures together in a separate big bowl, add milk to a smooth consistency. 

  4. At last, add cocoa powder and vanilla essence, mix them both in the same direction. 

  5. After beating the mixture, put it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35-40 mins. Glaze cake and serve when cool.
